export.trid.xml for FRITZ!Box configuration backup *.export
« on: January 06, 2020, 10:27:52 PM »
Hello trid users,

some weeks ago i saved the configuration of my routers produced by avm.de
and called FRITZ!Box with file name extension "export" like in example
fritzbox.export.
When running trid on such files these are not recognized (See appended
output/trid-old.txt).

So i run tridscan to generate export.trid.xml to describe such configuration
backup.

Unfortunately the generated trid definition is only based on 2 router
models. So there exist thousands strings in global string section. So it
would be nice if other users with other FRITZ!Box router models refine the
definition.

Unfortunately from the company avm there exist no official file
specification. Apparently these people like china government believe in
wrong philosophy "security by obscurity". But luckily Michael Engelke has
developed some tools to handle such export files. So i add this site as
reference by line:

   <RefURL>http://www.mengelke.de/Projekte/FritzBoxTools</RefURL>

With the new trid definition all router configuration examples are now
described ( see appended output/trid-new-v.txt). TrID definition and output
are stored in archive export.zip. I hope that my updated XML file can be
used in future version of triddefs.

With best wishes
Jörg Jenderek

Thanks!
Will try and find some other *.export files to refine the definition.
