Looking for sensors hints
« on: July 20, 2007, 11:08:54 AM »
I got involved in a project where we need to measure how long and how strongly a person is pressing on a tablet with his hand. So I need to  choose some sensors. I think they are called "pressure sensors", however I don't have to measure gas or fluid pressure, just mechanical pressure.

The best thing would be if the sensors had some kind of interface which allows to connect them to an USB port, that is something which can be quite easily connected to a "popular" processing unit such as a palmtops or laptops. Then I'd have to write the sw to run on the processing unit.

Sensors - and electronics in general - are an unknown sea to me, so I'm hoping someone has some suggestions about where to search. Googling from scratch made me think that if I could use hints from someone who already knows something about that, it would be much better  ;D

Hi!

Sorry but I haven't any experience in this particular field.
Good luck! :)

Thanks anyway, Marco! I'll keep this thread updated if I find something good.
