Thanks so much for the -ce switch - that's just in time !  :D

There's only a little problem -i get a doubled dot  ( as  filename..ext ) -- do I make a mistake ? (Win_32)

I (re)tried running TrID -ce against some files (with extension, without, etc.), and I don't see that issue.
Can you retry, and eventually report a specific/complete filename that show the problem?

Hi Mark0,

I've to beg your pardon - I wasted your time !

I fixed the problem - IT'S NOT TrID !!   

It relies on the connection to the external HDD - I changed the PC and all is running fine.
