Title: .OVL File Extension
Post by: dood on July 11, 2007, 04:14:06 AM
I am posting this to tell about an Extension

The OVL extension can be one of two things:

OVerLay - used by 400kb ms-dos systems to handle files larger that 400kb

RCT(RollerCoaster Tycoon)3 Program Sprite - Used for particle effects such as water jets, lasers, fireworks and water.

Hi!

The first type of OVL file you are refferring to is probably too generic / broad for creating a proper definition for TrID.
The second type, instead, maybe a very good candidate.

If you have some of that RTC OVL files at hand, you may try to create a new def using TrIDScan (http://mark0.net/soft-tridscan-e.html). If you then send the XML file to me, I will check it and add to the public db.

Thanks,
Bye!
