Web Page Analyzer
« on: January 05, 2007, 09:42:17 PM »
I can not get your analyzer to analyze my url .  It just sits there after running for awhile and telling me that it was messed up while loading the page. I get no file answer. Im trying to find out how to open a .mar file  .
firefox-3.0a2pre.en-US.win32.complete.mar is the file.  Can someone run this for me or tell me what to use to open it .    :o

Just tried (to be sure) to use Online TrID to analyze some files and it worked as usual. It may take a while to upload the file you want to analyze from your PC to my host, depending on file size and your Internet connection speed.

Note that you don't have to supply a web page / URL, but click the [Browse...] button, select a file on your PC and then confirm (sorry if this appear obvious, just to be sure).

Bye!

You didn't read the question right . I just tried that file again for like the 5th time....let it analyze for over a half an hour and got the same reply that i have been getting all along ...it's ..........."The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading".........That is all that it has ever produced for me. Yes i have been doing it exactly as you have said. You didn't try the file i said that i cant get ............firefox-3.0a2pre.en-US.win32.complete.mar ............is the file.It only returns ............The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading"..........so i ask again , can anyone run that file and get an answer ? Or just tell me how to open a ..........    .mar    file.

That's a Mozilla ARchive.
A filesize of 8MB it's a bit too large to be uploaded to the Online TrID; usually there's a limit of about 4MB, because it isn't very practical to upload such files. Aside from that, it may also take just too much time (depending on the internet connection speed, as I said) so that a timeout occur.

Unfortunately I have no direct experience with that filetype, so I can't say how to open / deal with MAR archives. Probably browsing around a bit starting from the page metioned above can lead to some tools or methodologies to use.

Bye!
