TridNet crashes
« on: February 08, 2007, 08:48:16 PM »
Hello,

I'm running Windows XP SP 2 with .NET Framework 3.0, extracted trid_net.zip into a new folder and added the TrID XML defs. But trying to run TRIdNet leads to the following error message:

"TRIdNet.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

The "problem" neither appears in the event log nor Dr. Watsons log. Any ideas what's going wrong ? Maybe something else needs to be installed ?

Any help would be appreciated !

Stefan

(btw, TRId works fine)

Hi!

Strange. Never seen myself or reported about a similar error.
Will try to reproduce it and fix accordingly.

Thanks for the feedback,
Bye!

Well ;) here's a logfile of all Registry / File System / Process events during the crash. You can re-import it into Process Monitor in order to e.g. filter out the events which are triggered directly by TrIDNet.exe...

(plz copy & paste because wether link posting nor registering works)

Troubles with setting up Borland Turbo Delphi made me remove .NET 3 and 2 in order to install 1.1 instead, whereupon TridNet took off smooth and nicely.   :o  :D

It's a bit strange, because I had TrIDNet working on machines with just .NET Framework v2 installed...
Thanks for the info!
