TrID is a command line tool. You cannot simply double click on his icons on Explorer: if you do that, you'll see only a black windows flashing on the screen for a split-second, and then disappear.
Instead, you have to open a Command Prompt, change to the directory where you installed / copied TrID's files, and run it from there. The file to analyze must be sumitted as a parameter.
