Scanning One File
« on: October 27, 2009, 09:59:10 PM »
I have one file I need to know the type of, however TrID can't scan it, giving this error:

"*Error: You need to scan at least 2 files (the more, the better!), or refine an existing def"

Here's what I have done, so far:

1) Downloaded the tridscan and triddefspack ZIP files

2) Unzipped the distributions into the same directory

3) Unpacked triddefspack.exe from the command line

This results in a new file in the directory: TrIDDefs.TRD

4) Executed: tridscan.exe "c:\path\to my\file"

5) Got the above error

Running WinXP 32-bit. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Hi!

TrIDScan is used to create new definitions, that's why it need at least a couple of files to analize.
To analyze a file, simply use TrID.

Bye!
